Intro to Precision Rifle
Introduction into precision rifle course is for those looking at getting into long range shooting or PRS shooting. The course caters for shooters ranging in skill set from being completely new to shooting, simply new to PRS/long range shooting or for those with a little experience that want improve on there skill set.
What you can expect out of the coarse.
Rifle and shooter safety.
Correct rifle and scope set up.
Rifle zeroing at 100m and collecting bullet speed. Correct shooting techniques (correct use of a rear shooting bag. Correct body position and correct trigger pull and follow through).
Validation of ammunition out to 950m.
Trueing of software to align with what the rifle is doing at 950m and in.
Basic information gathering ie environmental conditions needed to make a shot at distance. Putting that information into ballistic software or hard data.
Pre stage safety and stage planning.
Positional shooting.
- Correct body position.
- After shot follow though.
- Spotting shots and making corrections.
Putting it all together at the end and running some multi target, multi position stages.
What you will need to attend the course.
Rifle.
A rifle scope that has the ability to be dialled .
80 rounds of ammunition.
Bi-pod (not essential).
Ballistic app. I’d recommend hornady 4DOF or streloc pro.
Hearing protection.
Good attitude.
The coarse runs from 10am to 3pm. I limit each coarse to a maximum of 2 shooters per day.
You will need to bring your own food and drink for the day.
The venue is located 30 minutes west of Te Kuiti.
The price for the day is $250 per person.
